Kate Middleton Takes Legal Action On A Photographer
Posted by admin in royal family on January 15, 2010
Its not often you hear about the Royal Family, or indeed those associated with the royal family, taking legal action. They generally like to rise above it all, because, lets face it, they are the Royal Family. However, something interesting was announced today which will see Kate Middleton, girlfriend of Prince William, take legal action against a photographer that she claims took pictures of her on Christmas Day, which is only a month after the Queen issued a warning to the media about publishing any paparazzi photographs of the royals.
Miss Middleton is seeking damages and it is thought that this move has had the backing of the Royal Family. Will she win? Only time will tell, and it could go either way. After all, Miss Middleton isn’t officially a member of the Royal family yet, so one might assume that the ‘no photograph’ rule doesn’t really apply to her.
It’s an interesting legal case and one that we can’t wait to find out more about. Will keep you all posted with any further news regarding this.

Gordon Brown Wants To Stop Male Heirs Having Priority In Royal Line Of Succession
Prime Minister Gordon Brown has got a bee in his bonnet about the Royal succession rules that give male heirs a priority. The fact that Prince William’s first child might be a girl indicates that a constitutional crisis could be sparked, and Brown is pushing to prevent this from happening.
It is the 1701 Act of Settlement law which needs to be reformed, according to Brown. The law also states that members of the Royal Family cannot marry Roman Catholics.
Brown believes the law is outdated and it is expected that he will raise the issue when he attends the Commonwealth Heads of Government this coming weekend.
